A pixie-dust filled day spent celebrating Pixar Fest at Disneyland!

My trip was provided by Disney. All opinions are my own. Earlier this week I spent a pixie-dust filled day Celebrating Pixar Fest at Disneyland! It was so much fun and I was able to experience the Pixar Fest Food, Pixar Fest Treats, Pixar Play Parade, and the Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular fireworks show.

I am excited to share everything Pixar with you today so you can see how fun it all is, and plan a trip of your own to experience it. Pixar Fest at Disneyland only goes through Sept 3, 2018, so be sure to do it this summer.

The Pixar Fest at Disneyland

Pixar Fest, the biggest Pixar celebration ever to come to Disney Parks, brings guests together to celebrate friendship and beyond for a limited time. This first-ever Pixar Fest presents some of the beloved characters and stories from Pixar Animation Studios in new and exciting ways at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and throughout the resort.

Films such as Pixar’s “Toy Story,” “Coco,” “Monsters, Inc.” and “Up” come to life for guests in a new nighttime spectacular, the return of two favorite parades with fresh Pixar surprises, new décor, musical entertainment, creatively themed food and beverage and event merchandise.

We stopped at the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats and got the Pixar Pier Parfait. It is a non-dairy lemon soft serve and blue raspberry frozen beverage. It is absolutely delicious and worth the wait to get one.

Next, we headed to the Toy Story Midway Mania ride! During the ride, you take aim at moving objects by pulling on a cord. Your cannon shoots 4D objects at the screen (not really-but it is really accurate). It is a midway-inspired, 4D game starring popular Disney·Pixar Toy Story characters.  You play different games throughout the ride. These are:

• Hamm & Eggs – Blast at barnyard targets by throwing eggs in this game hosted by Hamm, the wise-cracking piggy bank with a cork in his pork belly. Take aim at pigs, ducks, cows and other farm-bound critters.
• Rex and Trixie’s Dino Darts – Throw darts at targets in a primeval world filled with volcanoes and lava balloons as Rex and Trixie cheer you on.
• Green Army Men Camp – Toss virtual baseballs to break plates and earn your stripes with the green army men. Watch out for the Army helicopter as it swoops by your camp!
• Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers – Toss rings at the heads of the little 3-eyed green aliens as they pop their heads out of the space craft. A successful toss releases a golden ray of galactic light. To infinity and beyond!
• Woody’s Gallery  – Hop on over to the hotel and blast the bull’s-eyes that pop up. Next, move over to the mine and dig for gold as you knock out more targets.

Next, we headed over to the Pixar Pals part of the pier and said hi to Buzz and Woody! They are very sweet and it is always fun to meet the characters from the movies that we all know and love. There is also a very cool Coco display in the area, as well as a lot of great treats and eats in this area. Be sure to check them all out!

After all of the fun on the pier, we headed over to Cars Land. The Radiator Springs Racers is one of my favorite rides in the whole park. Our car ended up losing the race, but we still had a great time and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Everyone, regardless of age, will love this ride!

Another one of my favorites that we hit was Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! ride. We had so much fun as it was many of my friends’ first time on it. If you haven’t ridden this, do it! Try it at least once.

Take the time to soak it all in. There are a lot of very cute displays, activities, food, treats, and drinks. We had a great time and I loved seeing all of the Pixar magic around the parks.

 

 

The Pixar Fest Food

Favorite Pixar pals and stories such as “Up,” “Toy Story,” “Coco,” “Ratatouille,” and “Monsters, Inc.” are inspiring delicious treats available for a limited time during the Pixar Fest celebration. You can see many of the creatively-themed offerings that will be available for you to enjoy during Pixar Fest.

We went to Alient Pizza Planet for dinner. I had the Count-Down Chicken Fusilli and I am honestly going to tell you, it was AMAZING! If you like alfredo, you will love this! The breadsticks were also a great addition to my meal. I also sampled the Ceasar Salad and it is very good too as is the Cheeseburger Pizza.

I had a chance to try several of the treats like the Alien Macaroon, Pixar Lemon-Raspberry Cake, Baby Dory Cake Pop and they were all delicious. I am certain that you will like any treat you get because they all taste great.

 

 

The Pixar Play Parade

For the first time, “Pixar Play Parade” makes its way through Disneyland Park, being led by someone new. The parade begins just as all Pixar films have, with an appearance by the iconic and adorable Pixar Lamp and yellow Ball from the original Pixar short, “Luxo Jr.” Also new to the parade are characters from the beloved film, “Up.” Wilderness Explorer Russell appears astride the colorful flightless bird, Kevin, as Carl Fredricksen and Dug follow behind with Carl’s tethered house floating above. “Inside Out” also joins “Pixar Play Parade,” with Joy and Sadness perched atop colorful memory orbs and Bing Bong himself cheering them on.

The parade was so much fun. I loved seeing all of the characters and listening to little bits of their stories, songs and fun costumes and floats. The parade lasted about 30 minutes. It gets very crowded and can be hard to find a seat. Try and get a seat where you are facing Tomorrowland so that the sun isn’t in your eyes. Takes lots of videos and pictures so you can remember it and enjoy it at home.

 

Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

The new multimedia fireworks show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular,” celebrates the heart of Pixar Fest at Disneyland as it lights up the sky over Disneyland Park, connecting guests with characters they’ve come to know and love. Along with dazzling pyrotechnics, projections on iconic park locations and memorable music, the heartwarming show celebrates the theme of friendship, an ever-present concept in Pixar animation. Guests discover favorite moments from all 19 Pixar films, including Buzz Lightyear and Carl Fredricksen’s House from the film “Up” flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The fireworks show lasts for about 11-12 minutes, and every second is spectacular! The stories that are shared on the castle while the fireworks blast in the sky, make it one of my favorites so far. It is very touching and I enjoyed how they coincided different special effects with different movies.

Overall, our Pixar Fest at Disneyland experience was amazing. I am already making plans to take my family this summer so they can soak up all of the Pixar Fest fun too! Also be planning ahead, Disneyland during the holidays is amazing as well. You can’t go wrong with the Pixar Fest at Disneyland – there is so much to see, do and eat.

Also be sure to ride on the new Incredicoaster – a new amazing roller coaster based on The Incredibles! Buckle up for an exhilarating ride into the world of The Incredibles—this newly re-imagined attraction opens June 23, 2018! Watch the Incredibles 2 trailer and get a small taste of how good this movie is! It comes out in theaters June 15!
