Tips for visiting LEGOLAND Florida Resort

LEGOLAND Florida was the first stop we made on our Orlando based vacation. I am so glad that we were able to include this into our trip. The LEGOLAND Beach Retreat is an amazing place to stay, and we had a great time visiting LEGOLAND Florida park the next day. After spending an entire day there, I am sure that we still have things to learn, but we also learned a whole lot, so I wanted to share those tips with you in case you are planning a trip and want some more detailed information.

1. They have first visit buttons at Customer Service or when you get your tickets. Be sure to pick those up for the kids (and you) they are REALLY CUTE!
2. When you first get there, be sure to get a DigiPass. This is really inexpensive (it was about $45 + tax when we went) and lets you digitally collect all of your photos throughout the day. No matter how many times you go on a ride, you will be able to save all of the different ones, and download them when you get home.
3. LEGOLAND Florida souvenir cups are available and the more you buy, the cheaper they get. Each cup gets unlimited refills on the day of purchase and is only $5.99/cup to reactivate them on your next visit!
4. Be familiar with the LEGOLAND Park map and choose a route. We started with The World of Chima Quest for Chi ride and worked our way up the left side of the park to the new LEGO NINJAGO area. We made a big loop and took it all in. With a couple hours left in the park, we started hitting all of the big rollercoasters and the NINJAGO ride again. It was so fun!
5. It gets really hot…obviously. If you are looking for cold ice water, you can make your way to the LEGO City Burger, they have a machine where you can fill up your water bottles with ice and water for free. This was a lifesaver for us.
6. Take time to capture pictures of your kids with all of their favorite LEGO characters. This was fun and will be a great souvenir for their memory photo books. There are a lot of them throughout the park made with LEGO’s and it is a lot of fun for your kids to see them. They also have character meet and greets so be sure to check the daily schedule to see what time those are at.
7. There are several shows at different locations in the park. They are a lot of fun to watch, and most of them are indoors where you can cool down and rest for a bit.
8. Down by the Cypress Gardens, there are a lot of tables/benches for you to sit at if you are wanting to sit down for a break and eat something. It is also a fun place for your kids to see small turtles and fish swimming around. We didn’t walk all of the gardens but I wish we would have walked to the Banyan Tree originally planted in 1939. Be sure to do that while you are there (and send me a picture 😉 )
9. If you have time, be sure to visit the LEGOLAND Water Park. It is packed with tons to do for you and the kids. “We hope you’ve been practicing your cannonball! Get ready to slide, splash and build your way to fun at LEGOLAND^® Water Park. From the LEGO^® wave pool to the Build-A-Raft lazy river, tube slides, body slides and interactive water-play structures -Joker Soaker and DUPLO^®Safari – your kids will soak up tons of fun!”
10. Be sure to spend a little time exploring LEGOLAND Miniland USA. It is so fun to see Daytona International Speedway, Kennedy Space Center, California, Washinton, D.C., LEGO Star Wars, New York, Las Vegas and more! You can even race cars at the speedway.
11. You can’t take bags on most of the roller coasters, but they provide cubbies by the workers where you can store your stuff. Just make sure it is zipped up and you don’t have anything like a set of keys in plain site (you can never be too careful).
12. Plan to spend a little time in the Imagination Zone. It is nice and cool inside this big building where kids can build and create, race and fly their creations and even spend time playing video games, on tablets and more!
13. The new LEGO NINJAGO World is AWESOME! So many fun things to do here from games, building, picture ops, and more as well as the super fun LEGO NINJAGO The Ride!
14. There is a great place for younger kids (ages 2-6) in DUPLO Valley with a lot of interactive rides, games, splash pad and play areas to keep them entertained.
15. If you have kids that are fans of the LEGO Girls and Heartlake City, then they will enjoy visiting this area of the park. You can get pictures with (almost) life-size characters made out of LEGOS and Mia’s Riding Adventure is thrilling. There is a height restriction on this ride – you have to be 48″ to ride.
16. There are plenty of places to grab food or snacks as well as drinks throughout the park. There are also a lot of bathrooms, but be sure to keep a map on you to make it easier to find them (and your way around).
17. Outside coolers, food, and beverages may be brought into the park under certain guidelines. You can read about the policy here.
