Montage Deer Valley Resort Review {Luxury Hotel by Park City}

Staying at the Montage Deer Valley Resort was one of the most fun experiences my husband and I have had. From the moment we drove up to the minute we drove away we felt like part of family. It is exquisite, charming, and unique.

The Valet’s were very friendly and knowledgeable. We drove up and they asked our names, they used their radio to let someone inside know we were there, and once we had loaded everything onto a cart, we went inside and meet someone who took us straight to our room to check in. The car was taken care of and our luggage was brought to our room after we had checked in. We were showed around our room and answered all of our questions. One thing that I was very excited about was that they had a texting service. We were given a card with a number we could text with any questions, and also when we were ready to checkout. The responses were quick and helpful.

We went to the Montage Deer Valley to celebrate our 11 year Anniversary. We let the Hotel know why we were visiting a head of time and they surprised us with this sweet and thoughtful gift in our room. The chocolate covered strawberries were delicious and I loved the Montage logo on the bottoms. That is so cool. This really let me know that they valued us and were aware of us. This is so important to me as a customer. The entire time we were there we felt valued and important because of the great staff and amenities.

The Resort King Suite at the Montage Deer Valley is simply stunning. You walk into an entry way and off to one side is the bed and sitting area, and on the other side is the bathroom area. Next to the bed on each side are lamps and nightstands, and the night stands have pull out trays on the front (which were great for holding my laptop). There is also a phone on each side. There is a set of controls that turn the fireplace on and off, and also controls the lighting so if you forget to turn the lights out before you get in bed, you can just hit the button and it turns everything off. The bed is super comfy and it was the best night’s sleep I have had for a long time.

At the foot of the bed was a nice sofa with a coffee table. There is also a lamp by the couch if you want to read. The remote was great. It controlled so many things in the room through the tv. The fireplace was beautiful and I loved how the room was laid out. It was comfortable and everything was laid out conveniently. There was a safe in the closet as well as slippers, a humidifier, and iron/iron board. Since it was snowy outside, the cushions for the chairs on the balcony were also in the closet. The private balcony was the perfect size with a table and two chairs. The views were amazing and it was fun to watch the skiers and tubing.

I absolutely fell in love with the bathroom. The tub was so comfortable and even had a pillow for your head. I loved the faucet and that it had a shower attachment as well. Inside of the shower was a regular shower head, but there was also a ceiling shower head and I loved that. There was two sets of lights and they were also set up so you could dim them, that way if you wanted to relax in the tub, you weren’t being blinded or sitting in the dark. The complementary toiletries that came in the room smelled so good and were a good substitute if you didn’t bring your own. There were plenty of towels and a nice rug as well as a bath mat. There were two very comfy and warm robes hanging in the bathroom for our use as well. These ones were a little small (made for petite people), but we also didn’t ask the front desk if they had a larger size, which I am sure they do. Either way they are great to wear out to the pools, to the spa, or just around your room.

One thing we enjoyed was going out on the Terrace and having S’mores and Hot Chocolate. They had so many different kinds of Marshmallows that it was hard to choose, so I had one of each 😉 They were fantastic and homemade. YUM! They also had milk and dark chocolate Hershey’s bars to use as well as yummy graham crackers. The Hot Chocolate was fantastic and they had mini marshmallows you could add, as well as lids (which I loved).

The sticks were new for each person, they had a pile of clean ones you could use so you weren’t using someone else’s stick. The fire was large so several people could fit around it, but there weren’t more that 6-7 of us there at any given time. It was a little chilly outside but the fire kept us warm while we enjoyed the S’mores and hot chocolate. I loved the view from where we sat. It was so beautiful.

After spending time outside walking around and enjoying everything, we came into the Vista Lounge and sat in a very comfortable couch while we listened to the live entertainment. We also had the option of ordering food and/or drinks but we were still full from the S’mores and Hot Chocolate. The gentleman entertaining played the guitar and sang. He did a great job. At one point, my husband asked me to dance, so we did, and I loved it – it was very romantic and sweet. (there were no other’s dancing, but it was still fun). We also went out on the terrace (on the other side of the Hotel) and we were able to look out over the valley. It was almost evening and we saw a beautiful sunset. When we came back in, we played a game of Backgammon on one of their many game tables around the lounge.

The Vista Lounge is Centered around a roaring fireplace, guests delight in talented musicians, handcrafted cocktails, and classics such as fondue, cheese, and charcuterie.

We took a tour of the 35,000 sq ft Spa Montage. It is simply stunning. I wish we would have had more time so I could have gotten a message there. It has everything you can think of and them some. The pool areas are warm and inviting inside and outside the water in the pool is warm with basketball and lap swimming. It is a little chilly getting out but you have that nice warm robe from your room to keep you warm.

The breathtaking views and scenery and the attention to detail made a huge impression. Everything was very clean, and there were signs and/or someone to help so you could find your way. There are a few amazing restaurants inside the Resort, as well as other activities like bowling, darts, and of course the Skiing. There is something for everyone and you will have a fabulous time at the Montage Deer Valley Resort.

Families from all generations come together for festive celebrations among the resort’s dining venues, sprawling lawns, alfresco terrace and elegant ballrooms.
