In October last year (2015) my husband and I were able to take a trip to Turks & Caicos and visit the Beaches resort in the Providenciales. It was an amazing experience and we took advantage of every opportunity because we wanted to experience everything we could. We had an option to go on a (mini) cruise to Little Water Cay (Iguana Island) as well as go snorkeling at the barrier reef and swim in the ocean. I will post more about the snorkeling and swimming later, but today I wanted to show you some of the amazing pictures from our trip to Iguana Island, as well as another trip I was able to take and do a small tour and see a different part of the island. There were really a lot of big iguanas there and I loved that we were able to find some cool things like a Conch Shell. If you ever visit Turks & Caicos Providenciales, be sure to take the tour over to Iguana Island. We went on the Island Vibes Kitty Katt Cruise from the Beaches resort.
I hope you enjoyed these pictures. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. The two trips I made over to Little Water Cay (aka Iguana Island) were amazing and a great part of my already amazing trip. For anyone who is questioning whether or not to do this, then then answer is YES! The photographic opportunities are great, but seeing the Iguana, the beaches and walking around in the cay was perfect. The people on the Kitty Katt were very knowledgeable and helpful as well as friendly. They made the trips that much better.
Here are some things you will want to take with you if you decide to do this:
- Action Camera (we used a Sony Action Cam, but a GoPro would be great too)
- Memory Card for action camera
- Extra Battery for Action Camera
- Float Grip for Action Camera (this is a must have – especially if you are going in the water)
- DSLR camera with different lenses
- Nice water resistant beach bag to keep cameras in
- Sarong (for girls)
- Water shirt (for guys)
- Sunglasses
- Waterproof case for cell phone
- Sunscreen
I would not recommend a hat unless it fits securely. I would also take a bottle of water if you can because it gets really hot.
Have you been to Turks and Caicos before? I would love to hear about your experiences.
This trip was part of the Social Media Moms on the Sand. We received a discounted rate. All opinions are 100% my own.

My family and I were there during that same trip! We didn’t do the day trip to Iguana Island but instead visited the spa! Ahhh, your pictures are gorgeous!

The Caribbean is so gorgeous and this area is no exception. I would totally visit Little Water Cay because you only live once, but I would be staying far away from the iguanas.
