I love visiting hot springs. Especially in the colder months (which Utah has plenty of, lol). I have done some research and found a whole bunch of hot springs in Utah. Most are free, and some have hiking involved, but every single one is amazing. If there are others you know of that are not listed, please leave a comment or email me at lovebugsandpostcards@ gmail.com!
Here are the hot springs in Utah that we are sharing:
- Diamond Fork Hot Springs (free)
- Meadow Hot Springs (free)
- Homestead Crater (paid)
- Crystal Hot Springs (paid)
- Saratoga Hot Springs (free)
- Mystic Hot Springs (paid)
- Baker Hot Springs (free)
There are a few others but they are not open, or not open to the public.
Fifth Water Hot Springs (Three Forks Hike)
Spanish Fork, Utah
I have been here a couple of times and loved it both times. A 2.4 miles hike each way to some fantastic hot springs and a small waterfall. This is a must-do if you are in the area! Read about the hike and what to expect here: https://www.lovebugsandpostcards.com/three-forks-hike-to-fifth-water-hot-springs
Here are the directions to the Fifth Water Hot Springs trailhead and falls:
Meadow Hot Springs
Filmore, Utah
I haven’t been here yet, but it is on our summer 2022 list as well as a campout in the Meadow Lava Tubes! There are a couple of different hot springs here and they are deep. Be careful if taking small kids – probably wear life jackets. Take chairs, food, water, and bathroom supplies as there is nothing close.
Here are the directions for how to get to Meadow Hot Springs:
Homestead Crater
Midway, Utah
This is another place on our bucket list! You have to reserve tickets in advance. Also, if you have time, make a trip out of it and stay in the Homestead Resort and explore Midway and Heber. It’s such a beautiful area. If you go in the winter you can also see the Ice Castles or go tubing at Soldier Hollow.
Here are the directions to the Midway Homestead Crater:
Crystal Hot Springs
Honeyville, Utah
This is a great place to take kids. There are several different pools and fun things to do here. You can go all year round and enjoy a soak in the warm water.
Here are the directions to get to Crystal Hot Springs:
Saratoga Hot Springs
Saratoga Springs, Utah
The Saratoga Hot Springs is a short hike to a great little hot spring close to the Jordan River. It’s not too deep and not too hot- so great for all ages. We have been there a couple of times and my kids love it. If you are looking for other things to do you can ride the bike trails in Eagle Mountain, go on the Stewart Falls Hike, drive the Alpine loop, or do any of the other Fall Activities in the area.
Here are the directions to Saratoga Hot Springs:
Mystic Hot Springs
Monroe, Utah
This is definitely on our list of places to visit. They also have a nice campground if you want to stay there and enjoy the springs over an extended time. Within an hour of here are great places like Fish Lake Reservoir, Freemont Indian State Park, and a bunch of other great places!
Here are the directions for Mystic Hot Springs:
Baker Hot Springs
Delta, Utah
Baker Hot Springs also known as Crater Springs and Abraham Hot Springs are a series of geothermal springs located on Fumarole Butte, northwest of the town of Delta, Utah. The trail is about 0.6 miles out and back. You can take pets on this trail.

While we haven’t been to most of these, I know a lot of people that have. How much fun would it be to plan a hot springs in Utah road trip and just spend a weekend visiting them all? I might put that on our list of things to do next summer! I would love your feedback if you have been to any of these about what you thought. Or if I missed one that is open and working that I could add.
