When was the last time you really felt like anything was possible? Or maybe the last time you got so excited about something you felt just like a kid during Christmas getting that new bike! This is how I felt before they even opened the doors to the Blue Man Group Las Vegas Concert at the Monte Carlo Resort Casino. I love the drums, I love percussion, and I absolutely love improv. I’m a sucker for music and comedy. The Blue Man Group Show in Las Vegas combined all these perfectly, and gave us a show we will never forget!
About 45 minutes before the doors opened there was a Blue Man Parade that included the main percussionists from the Blue Man Group band. They stopped right in front of the entrance to the theater and proceeded to tastefully entertain with remarkably good solos and an overall vibe that gave the initial entrance a wonderful ambiance of excitement. There were really cool lights and other effects that added to the fun and excitement.
We were entertained for about 15 minutes before they continued the parade and went on to get ready for the show. We entered the theater and found our seats and while we were waiting giant eyeball floating balloons came out from the stage and floated around the auditorium. There was a “baby” and then after a little while the “mom” came out. They were really fun to watch. I swear that it “looked” right at me a few times lol.
Once the Blue Man Group entered the stage the crowd, (including myself) went wild. Throughout the performance I found myself more intrigued with what they would do next. I think it was fun not knowing what will happen next because of the improvisation with all of the special guests from the audience. The crazy lights, hilarious skits involving different volunteers from the audience, and some of the best percussion you will ever see left me on the edge of my seat the whole show.
I loved all of the props that were used. Towards the end of the show, there is a great surprise that had us standing up acting like little kids. The concert was loud as you can imagine from all of the banging on drums and the different sounds from all the cool instruments. I loved the pipes that they put together and the unique sounds that they were able to create with the pipes. I’m impressed with how well they can entertain an entire crowd without saying a single word. It really left me guessing the entire show, what would possibly happen next. Thank you Blue Man Group for an extremely entertaining and fun evening. We can’t wait to go back.
After the show the percussionist came out and we were able to meet one of the lead drummers. It was really cool! Be sure to try and take advantage of that if you can when you go and see them. We were able to record at the very end of the show, so I wanted to share this video I got of The Blue Man Group Las Vegas playing the drums with the paint. It is so cool!
