My family was able to try the new 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander for a week. This car is sweet. I love how comfortable it is and all of the functionality and features of the car. It is a crossover, but the first in it’s class to have a third row seat – allowing it to sit 7 passengers! This is such a big bonus for us. With a large family (we have four kids) it is nice to see a third row seat put in to accommodate more seating. I really like that they have the back seat split into two, so that we can put only one seat up and leave the other down for room for bags, a kennel, etc. Or put them both up if we need the sitting room. It is also nice that we can put all of the back seats down (middle and back rows) so that you have a flat surface it you want to sleep in the back, transport items, etc. The functionality of the seats is great. I love that they are adjustable. The backs of the seats in the middle row are adjustable, as well as the whole seat, moving forward and backward to give the person in the very back more room if needed.
Climbing into the drivers seat, I just melted. The layout of where everything was placed is a little backwards from our Chrysler – but I caught on quick and really ended up liking it. The Rockford Fosgate System in the car literally rocked! The big sub woofer in the back really added a good quality to the sound, but we were able to keep it toned down so that whichever of our kids was riding in the back didn’t feel like they were inside a drum 🙂
Here is what my husband had to say about the Outlander:
Mitsubishi outdid themselves when they designed the 2015 Outlander. The 2.4L inline 4 cylinder 16 valve 168 horsepower engine makes for plenty of pickup and pulls you right out of your seat when you shift from Drive to DS mode. Yep, the sportmatic shifter allows the automatic transmission to be thrown from ECO (D) mode to power (DS) mode. Of course you won’t get the same amount of mpg’s, but you will have all the power you need for a sport utility vehicle. This beautiful luxury crossover has the look of a sporty sedan hatchback with the seating of a minivan. The AWC or all wheel control gives the perfect traction for any type of weather or conditions. While I enjoy driving mostly in the sun, we had rain almost the entire time that I borrowed this car. No problem though, a quick push of the AWC button and I was able to select from several different AWC modes.
We had some really crazy weather while we were test driving the Outlander. We had rain, snow, wind, hail, and a number of other things and it handled really well, even in a hydroplane situation. It is made for all weather driving. Overall we really loved the car. The features, the comfort and the drive. I would have loved to have the middle seat be just a bit wider, but it was pretty standard. (like the back seat of a car). The look of the car is sleek and I love the design. It is a lot of fun to drive, and you often forget that it is a family car. It really it s a great ride and perfect of a family big or small. Even if we didn’t have kids I would love a car like this because of all of the functionality of it.
