We don’t get to go on vacation very often simply because it can get pricey when you have a large family. Finding things to do that are fun and memorable without costing an and arm a leg can be a challenge. I want to help simplify part of that for you. Here is something that you have to do if you visit California… Whale watching. Newport Whale Watching is affordable for your whole family and they offer that unique and memorable experience.
If it is just you or a whole group of people, they will accommodate you and make the experience amazing. Newport Whale watching is located in Newport Beach, California. They offer 2.5 hour Whale Watching tours where you will get to see all different kinds of Whales (like Gray, Blue, Fin, Humpback, Minke, and Killer). You will also be able to see Dolphins (Common, Bottlenose, Pacific White-sided, and Risso’s). In addition to all of those amazing whales and dolphins we are also hoping to see Sea Lions and other ocean life.
Newport Landing runs whale watching excursions seven days a week all year long. Late December through April coincides with the California Gray Whale annual migration along the Orange County coastline. May through November bring the giant blue whales and finback whales into our area. Trips are offered three times daily year round.
In addition to the 2.5 hour trips you can also take a full day excursion and do the Catalina Island Whale Watching experience. These trips depart at 8 am and get back around 6 pm.
The cruise immediately begins with excellent viewing opportunities of whales and dolphins just outside Newport Harbor. For the next 3 1/2 hours, viewing opportunities continue as our cruise crosses the Catalina Channel. During this time opportunities to view blue whales, grey whales, humpback whales, fin back whales, and many more whale species are possible. Several types of dolphin and many other unique marine creatures are also viewed while traveling the Catalina Channel.
