My husband and I recently went on a trip to Las Vegas as a romantic getaway. We were able to experience many fun and exciting things as well as many sweet and romantic things over the four days we were there. One of the coolest things we did was go on the High Roller. We got to experience a little bit of what it is like to be on top of the world in Las Vegas. It was a beautiful night, clear skies, and we got to ride the High Roller 550 feet above the strip. It was an terrifyingly exciting, and thrilling experience. The High Roller is the World’s largest Observation Wheel located in the heart of Las Vegas at the LINQ.
We got to go on it just around sunset. If you want to go – this is the time I would recommend (or evening because of the lights)! Once you get your tickets, there is a short walk to get up there, and before you get to go the loading area, there is a full bar where you can grab a drink for the 30 minute ride. We didn’t have much of a wait because they had it setup really well and the lines were almost constantly moving. The Wheel itself is continually moving at a slow pace, so when you load and when you get off you have to hurry a little. The High Roller Las Vegas is a unique and fun experience!
After we loaded we grabbed a seat and settled in for the ride. That didn’t last long though because we both wanted to get up and move around and hang out on the edges of the giant glass ball. It was a spectacular site to see Las Vegas from this vantage point.
We had fun taking a picture of ourselves with the beautiful background. It was sprinkling a little bit so the glass was a little splattered. It was a great 30 minutes from start to finish.
I wanted to show you what it looks like to see the other cabins from the one you are riding in. They look really cool! I love all of the different colors as well.
If you get the chance to go on the High Roller while you are in Vegas, be sure to do it. Night or day it is spectacular and a unique experience to go on the giant Ferris Wheel right above the strip.
Here are a few fun facts that I want to share with you from their site:
- The High Roller is the tallest observation wheel in the world, standing at 550 feet tall.
- Twenty-eight spherical cabins each accommodate up to 40 guests with available roll-in sky bars complete with bartenders to enjoy the 30-minute ride.
- The wheel is lit every night at sunset with more than 2,000 LED lights that create a visually stunning display.
- Once passengers board the wheel, the cabins feature dynamic video and music shows that fade away seamlessly to show the most impressive views of the Las Vegas valley.

Wow! I can’t imagine my husband ever wanting to go on that with me. He is afraid of heights. He won’t even fly. But I with enough guts and the right person next to me, might give it a try. How fun!
