For our 19th anniversary, we took a trip to San Francisco. I haven’t ever been able to spend a lot of time there so I was excited to go back with Clint and explore the city. While we were in San Francisco we visited the California Academy of Sciences. We used our San Francisco C3 to go here (as well as the Blue and Gold Fleet Bay Cruise and de Young Museum). The CityPASS is so easy to use and gave us a bigger variety of things to do while we visited (read more about it here). I am glad that we went to the California Academy of Sciences. There are so many fun things to do and see there.
The California Academy of Sciences
The California Academy of Sciences is great for all ages. My husband and I went (without our kids) and enjoyed it very much. In fact, there were a lot of people (18 +) that were there without little kids. There is a lot to see and do here so make sure you have some time to spend. Here are the exhibits at the California Academy of Sciences:
- Steinhart Aquarium
- Morrison Planetarium
- Osher Rainforest
- Kimball Natural History Museum
- Giants of Land and Sea
- Gems and Minerals Unearthed
- Twilight Zone: Deep Reefs Revealed
- BigPicture: Natural World Photography
- Color of Life
- The Swamp
- Philippine Coral Reef
- Tusher African Hall
- Living Roof
- Water Planet
- California Coast
We were able to visit most of these and really look around at everything and explore it all. They also have a lot of great exhibits geared just towards kids where they can play and go hands-on. I also LOVED the penguins so be sure to check those out in the Tusher African Hall!
Don’t miss out on visiting this place when you are in San Francisco. It is really fun to see everything and learn about our beautiful world. Be on the lookout for other things we did in San Francisco while we were there.
