This post is brought to you by Ruidoso New Mexico Tourism. All opinions are my own.
I love traveling with my family and friends, spending time with them doing things that build our relationships and create lasting memories. One of our favorite places to go when we travel is the mountains. I love the trees, lakes, cooler weather, hiking, fishing and dozens of other things you can do. I have been to a lot of places like this all over the Western US, and one I am looking forward to visiting soon is Ruidoso, NM with its beautiful mountain vistas and wildlife.
Ruidoso, New Mexico is a unique mountain village that’s off the beaten path but appeals to visitors looking to escape the heat from late spring to early fall. The weather is perfect and the scenery is breathtaking. If you like to be outdoors, whether strolling, hiking or various specific activities from mountain biking to horseback riding to fishing to golf to ziplining then you will love visiting here. Ruidoso has a small-town atmosphere where you can stroll down the main strip to shop and stop for a bite to eat or visit the acclaimed galleries featuring western art, bronzes, and jewelry. It is also a great chance to immerse yourself in Lincoln County western history—home once to Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. Because there is so much to do here, we are going to share our top 7 ways to rediscover yourself in Ruidoso, New Mexico:
1. Fishing
2. Ziplining
3. Mountain Biking
4. Horseback Riding
5. Golfing
6. Shopping
7. Lunch with friends/family
There is so much more to do there, but like I said, this is our top 7 favorites. While I am on vacation, I love to experience new things and really get to know the area I am at and learn what people love about it most. In Ruidoso, NM there is something for everyone to enjoy and connect with. You can plan as much as you want to do, or just sit outside and watch the local wildlife (elk, deer and bears are the most popular) and put your feet up on a deck with a cocktail and let the everyday stress melt away. We aren’t really outdoor kind of people. We are both very fair skinned, and burn walking to and from the mailbox. Having said that, I would love to visit New Mexico. My husband was born there, but moved to Oklahoma when he was still very very small. He doesn’t remember New Mexico, and have never been back. It would be a gr eat adventure of the two of us.
