We received this car to test drive for a week. All opinions are my own.
We recently went on a family trip to Arches National Park. We had never been there before as a family (my husband grew up there, so he was our guide), and we had an amazing time! In addition to Arches National Park, we also spent a day in Canyonlands National Park. Thanks to Mitsubishi’s Outlander SEL S-AWC we traveled in style with our 4 kids and our 4-year-old yellow lab Jake. Yes, you guessed it. We did have enough room in the luxurious and sporty Outlander with seating for 7 and cargo space in the back for our dog and luggage.
The seats folded down and made it easy for us to accommodate our dog and the luggage, as well as getting the kids in and out of the back. We were comfortable and rewarded with the safety of this amazing crossover. Sitting behind the wheel you get the feeling that you are driving a sports car with the sporty design and the black leather seats; however, you also get the feeling that you are on a first class flight full of elegance and spoils due to the roomy interior, and explosive features.
This luxury SUV features such items as a 360 degree surround camera, sunroof, leather interior, 4 wheel drive drivetrain, Keyless Start, Trip Computer, Security System, Engine Immobilizer, Intermittent Wipers, Variable Speed Intermittent Wipers, Rain Sensing Wipers, Fog Lamps, Automatic Headlights, Bluetooth Connection, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, Adjustable Steering Wheel, Leather Steering Wheel, Universal Garage Door Opener, Cruise Control, etc……..and my favorite, the integrated brake assist feature with settings for up to 3 car or closer sensor autonomous braking. This allows for cruise control to be set and when the Outlander approaches a vehicle in front it automatically slows down as to avoid a collision.
Mitsubishi definitely went all out with the safety features. With the overall safety, tight turn radius, seating capacity, off-road capability, 26 mpg highway rating, and all of the before mentioned features; you would expect this vehicle to bring a $40,000.00 plus price tag. I don’t know how they afford to do this, but Mitsubishi sets the MSRP at an amazing $32,390.00 for all of the features of the car that we drove. Base price starting at $27,495.00.
We found that although the Outlander has seating for 7 and room for our dog and some luggage if you plan on filling all the seats for a road trip, then you should invest in a roof rack and a luggage carrier. Our family of six barely fit due to our dog on board. It was still undeniably comfortable and well worth taking on our mini vacation.
Overall we are very happy with the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL S-AWC. The features and space along with the way the car drives make this a great car for everyone from commuters to families. We are sharing more about our Arches National Park trip soon so be sure to check back. In the meantime, head over to your local Mitsubishi dealer and test drive one of the Outlanders so you can see for yourself what we are talking about!
