I love cars – driving them and traveling. My husband loves all aspects (including “what’s under the hood”) so together we make a great pair. It is always fun when we get a new car to review. I like to get it out and drive and know what it “feels” like to be in it, but he loves to look at all of the technical stuff and learn more about all those details as well. We just got to test drive the new 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited for a week and I have to tell you, it is a sweet ride. This is one car that I would go out and buy tomorrow if we were looking. Some of my favorite features are the 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®, Memory system for the seats and mirrors, and the Cruise Control that adjusts according to traffic.
There is so much room in this car. I had a lot of space around me, and the middle console was set up nice so you were comfortable and the surround sunroof made it feel that much bigger. The base of the windows was a little higher than a standard which I liked. The extra lights on the outside when it is dark is nice as well because you can see around the car and feel more comfortable when trying to get in. The push button to lock and unlock the car, as well as start it, makes it so nice because you don’t have to take the key in out of your bag or pocket.
The benefits of the Limited are:
- 2.0L GDI 4-cylinder engine with Blue Drive® fully parallel HEV system and 193 net horsepower
- Interior-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (38 kW)

Compared to the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, I am happy with the newer look and features. I also fell in love with the hybrid part of it and it has me really wanting a hybrid for my next car. The power was still there and the gas mileage was amazing. Combine those things with the functionality of the car and the overall look of it and you have a slam dunk. My whole family loved the car, and we were sad to give it up after the week. If you are looking for luxury and performance at a better price, then this is the car for you.
Here is a short video review of the car – as we take you on a virtual test drive:
